Doc one of only two flying B-29s was visiting Yanks Air Museum over the weekend. I tried to go out on Sunday and shoot it as it was giving rides to people that had paid, but unfortunately there was a cloud cover which kept them delaying it and delaying it. Finally when it went up I wasn’t there, I was lucky enough though to grab a couple of stills of it flying over my house on its way back to the airport. Shot with the A9ii and the 200-600 lens. Post processed in Lightroom with a slight amount of cropping to center the plane. Shot at 1/200.

This past weekend was the first airshow that I was able to attend in the past year and half due to Covid. This was also my first time going to this airshow in particular. I’ve driven through Camarillo several times on my way to school and back. This however was the first time I could make it to the airshow. Below are some of the shots from both days of the show.

Was out at the Bolsa Chica Reserver a couple of weeks ago. Early morning shooting and a cloud cover required a high ISO. I took the shots into Topaz Denise to clean up the images. Pretty happy with the results, one of these days though I will make it out and it won’t be overcast.

The Planes of Fame P-38 lightning was up in the air over the weekend and I was able to go out and get some shots of it. I played around with the shots in Lightroom and also played with the super resolution features that are in Lightroom right now, pretty happy with what I got out of it and like the shots. Need to continue working on my panning and also didn’t get some shots as the pilot was doing some acrobatics and need to work on that. All shot with the Sony A9ii and the Sony 100-400.

Yank’s Air Museum took their Wildcat to the skies on Saturday. I was a little delayed getting up in the sky and I had almost left, but managed to get some good shots as the pilot flew it around. The pilot definitely didn’t disappoint on his acrobatics this day.

WWII Torpedo Bomber in use. Didn’t show up until the Battle of Midway and there were only 6 of them in use. Despite the loss of five of the six Avengers on its combat debut, it survived in service to become the most effective and widely-used torpedo bomber of World War II, sharing credit for sinking the super-battleships Yamato and Musashi (the only ships of that type sunk exclusively by American aircraft while under way) and being credited for sinking 30 submarines. Greatly modified after the war, it remained in use until the 1960s

Finally something airplane related in 2021, Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino took their P-51 up into the air and I was able to get some shots of it. Not as much fun as shooting an airshow, but still a good time.

I had finished a bike ride and decided to go looking for birds in the park. Instead I ran into some very aggressive squirrels who tried to come after me for food. Just messing around with some shots and like these the best out of what I saw that day.

For my wife’s birthday we went down to San Diego for the day. This was just a day trip and we were just going around using the trolley for transport. We did an escape room while we were there and also did an urban adventure quest that took us through old town and into Little Italy area. Really some areas, these are a few shots made with my iPhone. No post processing just some fun shots with no real purpose or reason.
